The Seven Deadly Sins were created using colours traditionally associated with them in Medieval church paintings. From left to right they are: Sloth, Greed, Anger, Pride, Envy, Lust & Gluttony Prudentius (c.410) defined a set of 'Contrary Virtues' which, when practised, would protect one from the deadly sins. These pearls of wisdom lie in the bowls. From left to right they are: Diligence, Liberality, Patience, Humility, Kindness, Chastity & Abstinence. Each bowl is beadwoven to approximately 2.5cm in diameter. 2002. |
