Class 1:
Beaded Amulet Bag
Create your own unique amulet bag. The class covers a range of beadweaving techniques including:
  • bugle ladder
  • brick stitch
  • peyote stitch
  • vertical netting
  • simple fringe
  • simple strap
  • toggle closure
  • horizontal netting
  • picot edge

Class 2:
Beadwork Bowl
Learn to bead over a form and create a beautiful freestanding beaded bowl about 5cm in diameter. Techniques covered include:
  • selecting and preparing a form; drawing on a pattern (optional!)
  • circular spiral brick stitch
  • tubular spiral brick stitch
  • flat brick stitch
  • right angle weave
  • picot edge
  • simple 'dangles' and other edgings

Class 3:
Beaded Needlecase

Poplar

Work a beadwork pattern over a wooden needlecase to create an elegant addition to your embroidery accessories, or add a fringe and strap for an attractive and functional pendant. The finished case is about 1cm wide and 6cm long. Techniques used include:
  • circular peyote stitch
  • tubular peyote stitch
  • simple fringing
  • spiral chain
  • simple beaded beads, and including them or larger accent beads in a chain

Choose from three patterns. Materials pack from tutor includes chart, hilighter, bead mat, beads, beading needle and thread, wooden needlecase. Participants may bring beads to use for fringe and strap (details in requirement list), or additional beads, needles and beading thread available from tutor.

Class 4:
Beaded Tile
Mariana & William
Choose from three designs inspired by Pre-Raphaelite artwork. Finished work measures approximately 5cm square, and may be worn as a brooch, used to adorn a notebook, framed.... Techniques covered include:
  • Square stitch
  • Picot edge
  • Simple fringe
  • Horizontal netting

Materials pack from tutor includes chart, hilighter, bead mat, beads, beading needle and thread, wooden needlecase.

Class 5:
Bead Embroidery
Use a variety of new and time-honoured methods to embellish fabric of your choice with glorious beads. Create a sampler of techniques or start work on your own project. Most bead embroidery stitches are simple; their impact coming from the beads. With bead embroidery you can use beads of almost any size to completely cover, or just delicately adorn, fabric.
